Omega Market FAQ
The questions buyers ask most, answered the way the market actually behaves. For the access steps see the access guide, and for the current addresses see the mirrors page.
Access and the address
- What is the Omega Market onion address?
- The current set is on the mirrors page. There is no single permanent address, the set rotates, and the right habit is to copy a current one rather than save an old one.
- Do I need the Tor Browser?
- Yes. A .onion address only resolves inside the Tor Browser, and the market works cleanly at the Safest security setting.
- What is the anti-phishing check?
- The first page shows the address you are on with a few characters masked and asks you to fill them in. If the visible characters do not match the address you pasted, you are on a copy and should leave.
Deposits and withdrawals
- What does Omega accept for payment?
- Monero only. There is no Bitcoin or Litecoin path, so other coins have to be swapped to XMR in a wallet you control before you register.
- Is there a minimum deposit?
- No minimum. Each deposit address is single-use and expires after an hour, so generate a fresh one for every deposit.
- How long does a deposit take?
- Up to 30 minutes, longer under network load, because Monero needs confirmations before the balance is credited.
- How do withdrawals work?
- One withdrawal per hour, between 0.05 and 100 XMR each, a flat 1 percent fee, authorized by the PIN or the PGP token. There is no daily cap.
- My deposit is not showing. What now?
- Wait for the confirmations to finish, and check that you used a fresh address. If a full hour passes with nothing, open a support ticket with the transaction hash.
Account and security
- Is two-factor mandatory?
- Yes, from the first session. The recommended path is a PGP key, which doubles as the recovery route if the password is lost.
- What is the PIN for?
- It authorizes withdrawals and PGP key changes. It is six digits, there is no reset for it, and losing it is a reason to store it properly from day one.
- I lost my password. Can I get back in?
- If PGP two-factor is on, log in with the key. If it is not, contact support with the username and the personal phrase, and the account can be recovered.
- What is the personal phrase?
- A string you choose at registration that only the real storefront displays correctly. It is your private confirmation that the page you are on is genuine.
Orders and disputes
- How does escrow work?
- Your funds move into escrow when you order and release when both sides confirm or a dispute is resolved. Digital orders auto-complete 72 hours after dispatch, physical orders 10 days after delivery, and the timer can be reset up to three times.
- How do I open a dispute?
- From the order page, once the order is dispatched or delivered. The escrow freezes, the market proposes a split, and if neither side accepts it a reviewer decides on the message log and the vendor's record.
- How long does a dispute take?
- Most are resolved between the two parties before a reviewer is involved. The ones that reach a reviewer take three to seven days, and a vendor who does not respond within seven days loses by default.
- What is Finalize Early?
- Trusted vendors with a strong rating can finalize an order sooner after shipment instead of waiting for the full auto-completion window. It is a privilege earned on feedback, not a setting you toggle.
Fees
- What are the fees?
- 5 percent on a successful sale, 1 percent on a withdrawal, and a vendor bond where a seller has no documented history to waive it. There is no deposit fee.
- Can I sell on Omega?
- Yes, through the vendor application. New sellers without a track record elsewhere pay the bond, established sellers can request a waiver, and every vendor needs PGP two-factor before a store goes live.
